Why Moritz chose PuMP
Throughout my career advising clients from well-funded startups to Fortune 100 companies, I have frequently encountered the need for effective performance measurement. I wanted to expand my understanding of a systematic approach to creating impactful performance measures without requiring clients as well as my own teams to go all-in and embark on Balanced Scorecard initiatives (they have their place, but sometimes less is more). After reading Stacey’s blog and her books, I was convinced that the methodology aligned well with my perspective on the crucial aspects of sustainable performance measurement and that the certification program would ensure I actually internalized it.
Moritz’s experience with PuMP
The online, self-paced nature of the course made it highly engaging and convenient for my schedule. The PuMP methodology was presented in a coherent, well-organized manner, which made it easy to comprehend and follow. Even through recorded video lessons, Stacey came across as super engaging and dynamic. The course content expertly combined theory, more practical deep dives (through video), and supporting documentation and templates. All this allowed me to apply the newly acquired knowledge to my real-world context.
What it means to Moritz to have PuMP Certification
Since completing the course, I have seamlessly incorporated PuMP concepts and reasoning into my daily work. One example is my active engagement in meaningful conversations with Operations teams regarding natural variation in staff utilization rates. The knowledge of presenting data effectively (gained from this course) has greatly benefited me in these discussions. Additionally, understanding the scientific reasoning behind the methodology has further strengthened my ability to address performance measurement challenges. As a result, the PuMP Certification has not only bolstered my credibility in the field but also enriched my professional profile for future opportunities.
