Hi, I am Roy from the Netherlands and I am working in a Performance Management Department within the ABN AMRO Bank. I work since 1989 at the bank and have been working mostly at the IT services side.
The last years I became enthousiastic about data visualisation.
I attend several workshops on this part, one by Stephen Few and one by Andy Kirk, and both men referred to Stacey if I want to know more about measures.
At that time I was designing a dashboard on all the KPI’s within IT4IT Value Chains and get stucked by the fact it was for me impossible to get a clear oversight. At that time we were working with a very nice guy @stacey this was Michel) and specialist on visualisation and he did give me two very good advices: 1. Keep it simple and 2. I should read the practical book of Stacey.
This was the third time someone referred to her, so he arranged me a copy and the rest is history!
I become very inspired and the people at my department get worried when I didn’t mentioned Stacey or PuMP at least 10 times for lunch!.
Stacey did get me in contact with Simon Crouch of Rubica in the UK and I managed to organise a workshop given by Simon in the Bank.
Two weeks later was the first PuMP community day in Europe and I did have the honour to meet Stacey herself.
At this moment is my greatest challenge to rule out all the bad habits on KPI’s and make the organisation more result driven.

Roy, I loved meeting you too. Your energy is great to be around. As you tackle that challenge to rule out all the bad habits on KPIs in ABN AMRO, please do share some things you find work well. Even the smallest success is inspirational and practical for us all!
